Spring is an exciting time at the Ranch when we anxiously await the arrival of babies.
The time has finally come:
One of our sows has a healthy litter of 7 piglets, and another sow is due soon!
April 7th and 8th we welcomed 5 baby lambs who are already out and about.
It has been such a whirlwind getting TumbleRoot Ranch up and running. It wouldn't be the same without the amazing community we've developed - and we want you to be a part of it.
We are so excited to be offering Ranch tours on Saturdays and Sundays.
Here's what you can expect when you come to visit:
You'll start at the Farm Stand with a brief introduction and head into the Ranch where we'll stop at each animal to see them up close. Your guide will fill you in on our management practices and answer any questions. We will also share the reasoning behind raising each animal and the important role they have on our property. You will learn about the specialty tools, feed, and supplements needed to care for the animals, what goes on inside a bee-hive with an up close mock set up, and how honey is extracted. During your visit you'll see pigs, including our breed stock which weigh around 500 pounds, sheep, chickens, ducks, horses, and our honey bees. Depending on your timing you might see baby piglets, lambs, and/or chicks as well.
